Law, Order and Policing Policy

At the ADF, we understand the urgent need to address the escalating concerns of rising crime and lawlessness throughout the country. Our robust Police and Criminal Justice policy aims to restore safety, ensure justice, and reinforce law enforcement with a clear and effective approach.

1. Establishment of a National Police Force
We propose the establishment of a national police force by expanding the existing National Crime Agency (NCA). This expanded agency will have a direct focus on:

  • Tackling county lines

  • Combating grooming gangs

  • Countering terrorism and fraud

  • Addressing serial murder cases

  • Combatting human trafficking and drug-related crimes
Additionally, the NCA will operate alongside 43 local forces, each under the command of divisional commanders who will deploy and manage resources to address local crime issues, anti-social behaviour, and road traffic management.

2. Recruitment and Empowerment of Police Officers
Our commitment to policing begins with the recruitment of 40,000 new police officers, while phasing out the 9,000 Community Support Officers. The focus will be on empowering fully trained officers to engage with their communities and provide a visible presence on the streets.
We will:

  • Re-establish local police stations within town centres

  • Scrap Police Crime Commissioners and reallocate their budgets to local policing

  • Increase the police budget from £18.4 billion to £22 billion annually, fully accounting for the costs of police salaries, training, and equipment.

3. Reforming the Criminal Justice System
We will overhaul the current criminal justice system to ensure greater efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Key measures include:

  • Abolishing the Crown Prosecution Service and replacing it with local prosecuting solicitor offices to improve cohesion and operations at the local level.

  • Scrapping direct entry recruitment at the Inspector level and for detectives. We will eliminate the need for a degree for entry into policing, focusing instead on a basic intelligence and physical test for all recruits.

  • Ending Diversity and Equality quotas in recruitment, instead prioritizing the selection of the most qualified police officers while encouraging candidates from all communities.

  • Introducing a fast-track entry system for ex-services personnel, enabling them to transition into policing swiftly and effectively.

4. Building Capacity for Prisons
We will invest in the future of the criminal justice system by constructing four new prisons within our first two years of office:

  • Two prisons for biological male adults

  • One prison for biological male adults under the age of 18

  • One prison for biological female adults, with a designated section for biological female juveniles
This initiative is projected to cost £1.2 billion, covering staffing, training, and equipping of the facilities.

5. Independent Inquiries into Policing and the Judiciary
We will instigate full independent inquiries into both the police force and the judiciary to ensure accountability and reform.

  • Policing Inquiry: Ex-senior police officers will be appointed to lead the inquiry, with recommendations acted upon within six months.

  • Judiciary Inquiry: Judges who have allowed criminals to walk free for serious offenses will be interviewed, and the inquiry will lead to changes in law to prevent such instances in the future.

6. Strengthening Sentencing for Serious Crimes
We will implement tougher sentencing guidelines for a range of crimes to ensure that justice is served and victims are protected. This includes:

  • Rape: The current sentencing guidelines for rape will be abolished. We will introduce a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years for all rape convictions, with at least 7.5 years to be served. Judges will be encouraged to impose life sentences for “Aggravated Rape,” where there is an element of torture, with a minimum sentence of 20 years and at least 15 years to be served.

  • Knife Crime: For those caught carrying knives or offensive weapons without a legitimate reason, we will impose a minimum sentence of 5 years. For those using these weapons to inflict harm, a minimum sentence of 10 years will apply.

  • Gun Crime: The minimum sentence for carrying a firearm will be 15 years, with a minimum of 25 years for those found guilty of discharging a firearm.

7. Deportation of Foreign and Dual Nationals
Criminals who are foreign nationals or hold dual nationality will be deported to their country of origin immediately upon release from prison, ensuring that they do not pose a further threat to our society.

8. Abolition of Non-Crime Hate Incidents
We will abolish non-crime hate incidents, focusing on tackling actual criminal activity while respecting the freedoms and rights of individuals.

The ADF is committed to ensuring a safer and more just society for all. Our comprehensive policy aims to tackle crime at its root, provide justice for victims, and support our police forces in maintaining law and order across the country.
